Questions about Trimix & Bimix

Trimix or Bimix?

Both relax the blood vessels directly. Trimix combines three agents and gives most men the strongest, most reliable response at a low dose. Bimix leaves out alprostadil, which suits men who get aching or burning from it, often at a higher dose. Same price; you pick at checkout.

Injection or tablet?

Tablets first, for most people. The injection is for when tablets haven’t worked or don’t suit you. Your clinician makes that call with you.

Does it need arousal?

It acts on the blood vessels directly, so it can start without arousal. Stimulation helps.

What if my first dose doesn’t work?

Early doses are often adjusted. Your clinician changes the dose with you; never change it on your own.

Can I get the antidote prescribed with it?

Ask your clinician. Many prescribe a reversal medication alongside the injection so you have it on hand.

Important safety information

Trimix and Bimix are compounded medications and are not FDA-approved. They are prescribed for erectile dysfunction when other treatments are not suitable. Use only the dose your clinician sets, and never more than once in 24 hours or more than three times a week. Do not inject within 24 hours of an ED tablet unless your clinician tells you to. Common side effects include pain or aching at the injection site or in the penis, bruising, and a small bump where the injection went in. Repeated injections in the same spot can cause scarring over time; rotate sites as your clinician shows you. An erection lasting more than 4 hours is a medical emergency: go to an emergency room. Do not use if you have sickle cell disease, a bleeding disorder, a history of priapism, or scarring or curvature of the penis. Tell your clinician about all medications you take. Store the vial refrigerated. This is not a complete list; your clinician will review risks with you.
